Currently there are 35 million kids aged 5-18 participating in organized sports and an adult population that is dedicated to physical fitness--whether it be walking, running, cycling, skiing, golfing, playing tennis, or other work outs.
Physical activity is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, but it is important to address any sports and exercise-related injuries with physical therapy to keep your body in peak shape.
Some of the common injuries we treat include:
- CL Tears
- Shoulder Separation/Dislocation
- Tennis Elbow
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Hip Pointers
Our commitment to sports and exercise related injuries focuses on the proper evaluation and diagnosis, as well as developing the proper treatment plan to get the athlete back to playing their sport. It also includes designing a strategy that will help them prevent re-injury.
Our goals are to restore full mobility to the affected area, increase general strength and functional movement as it relates to their sport or activity, work on balance, proprioceptive, and plyometric exercises to prepare the joints and muscles to return to the sport or activity and return the athlete to full performance in a safe and effective manner. Some of our treatment techniques include strength and conditioning, soft tissue massage, joint mobilizations, electrical stimulation, cold laser therapy, sports retraining, aquatic therapy, and sports taping.
