Eric Edelman PT, Owner,Professional Chauffeur:)
Eric graduated in 1994 from the State University of New York @ Syracuse. He has extensive experience in manual therapy techniques for the spine as well as rehabilitating sports and general orthopedic injuries. He uses an osteopathic approach to evaluate the body to determine a proper diagnosis and the origin of the problem. Eric has worked on the south shore for the past three decades and works closely with many area doctors, schools and wellness professionals. As the owner he feels passionate about hiring like-minded therapists and administrative staff who value patient care and seek to provide the best patient-care experience possible. He also believes in giving back to the communities Peak serves through many volunteer and charitable events. He is married with three young children and enjoys running, mountain biking, snowboarding and being a chauffeur to all of his kids many sporting events!
Laura Barron, DPT, ATC
Laura received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Simmons College. She is also a Certified Athletic Trainer and has worked with a variety of athletes at both the high school and collegiate level. Her areas of expertise include treating the spine, sports injuries, post-op conditions, and other subspecialities. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and activity level. She believes in creating individualized treatment plans combining manual therapy and therapeutic exercises to help patients achieve their rehab goals. In her spare time Laura enjoys hiking, kayaking, and cooking.
Al Blaisdell, PTA, ATC, Director of Athletic Partnership Program, Clinic Manager- Hanover & Scituate
Al graduated from Northeastern University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and from Newbury College in 1993 with an Associates degree. He has been employed as a certified athletic trainer at Hingham High School for the last 26 years and has been working as a PTA for 25 years. Al has worked at several clinics and owned his own physical therapy clinic during his career. He has most recently served as a clinical director interacting directly with vendors, referral groups and patients. He has treated hundreds of patients throughout the south shore with a focus on sports-related musculoskeletal injuries. Al lives in Hanover and enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons.
Jackie DeFreitas, DPT, Clinical Manager, Norwell, Director of Aquatics
Jackie graduated from Northeastern University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2010. As the Clinic Manager for our Norwell office Jackie treats a wide range of specialty areas including orthopedics, sports rehab, spinal conditions, vestibular and post-concussion rhab, and TMD. She is also the Director of our Aquatics program. She is certified in the Graston Technique and likes to incorporate a combination of hands on techniques, core strengthening, postural training to help patients maximize function. Jackie believes that patient education and preventative exercise routines are important aspects to achieving a healthy and injury free lifestyle. She enjoys running, yoga, beach activities and always trying to vary her exercise routine.
Liz Fallon, PT
Liz is a physical therapist who earned her bachelor of science degree from Quinnipiac College in 1989. Liz evaluates and treats a wide variety o fpatients at Peak including orthopedics, spine, fall prevention, vestibular, post-concussion, and post-op. Liz recognizes the importance of an eclectic approach for patient success. She utilizes various manual techniques, as well as patient-specific exercise prescription to address each individual's needs and goals. In addition to working at Peak, Liz teaches fitness classes at a local gym. She is married and has three children. In her free time she enjoys dancing, gardening, playing softball and relaxing on the beach with a good book.
Sarah Hanson, PT, DPT, CLT
Sarah earned her doctorate of physical therapy from Northeastern University in 2011. She treats patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions including post-operative care, sports rehab, and spine care. She is also a certified lymphedema therapist. Sarah is certified in Graston Technique, and likes to combine manual interventions with functional exercise to help patients restore their function and achieve their personal goals. She is an avid skier, beach-goer, and enjoys spending time with her family & friends.
Meghan Harrington, DPT, Clinic Manager- Quincy
Meghan received her B.S. in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology at UMASS Amherst and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Simmons College. Meghan has experience evaluating and treating a variety of patients including spine, orthopedics, sports injuries, post-op and more. Meghan believes in a comprehensive patient approach incorporating manual techniques and exercise to restore function and empower patients to engage in a more active lifestyle. In her free time, she enjoys going to the movies, hiking, swimming, and snowboarding.
Erica Hicks, DPT, Assistant Clinic Manager- Scituate
Erica received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Springfield College in 2016. She enjoys working with patients of all different ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Erica uses a comprehensive treatment approach including therapeutic exercise and manual techniques to help patients achieve independence and return to their previous functional levels. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, playing racquetball, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
Jeanine Jernegan, PT
Jeanine received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in 1995. She combines manual therapies with functional strengthening in order to meet her patient's individual goals. Jeanine effectively treats a wide variety of patients including orthopedics, vestibular, post-concussion, women's health, spine, TMD and post-op. Jeanine also utilizes the specialty technique of dry needling as well as other various techniques. She also provides aquatic therapy services for our Scituate clinic. Jeanine enjoys working with patients of all ages and activity levels.
Samuel Kushner, PT, DPT
Sam earned both his Bachelor of Exercise Science (majoring in Kinesiology) and Doctorate of Physical Therapy degrees at the University of Rhode Island. Sam is a former Division I College Football player, who has experience in orthopedic musculoskeletal injury both on the field and in the clinical setting. He takes pride in utilizing an individualized treatment approach while implementing a holistic plan of care for all his patients. Sam is a huge Boston sports fan and enjoys hanging out with friends and family, exercising and traveling in his spare time.
Rachel Laufer, PT, DPT, Orthopedic Certified Specialist, CCCE, Director of Employee Education and Mentorship
Rachel received her doctorate in physical therapy in 2014 from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. She then completed an orthopaedic residency program at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT where she served as a clinician, adjunct faculty in musculoskeletal examination and intervention doctoral courses, post-doctoral graduate student, and clinical instructor for doctoral students. Rachel has recently received the distinguished honor of becoming an OCS(orthopedic certified specialist) which is a highly respected certification amongst her peers. Rachel has also become our CCCE in which she manages all student clinical internships at Peak. Her clinical experience and interests include outpatient orthopaedics, aquatic therapy, traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, and concussion rehabilitation. To best help her patients, she provides individualized care that combines various manual therapy techniques as well as exercises, focusing on improved movement quality and pain reduction. In her free time, Rachel enjoys reading, doing yoga, road cycling, sailing, traveling, and cooking!
Ruth Maloney, PT, DPT
Ruth received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Boston University in 2007. She has gone through extensive training in Women's and Men's pelvic health with significant clinic experience in treating urinary/bowel dysfunctions, chronic pain, and pregnancy and postpartum issues. She furthered her manual and clinical skills through course work from NAIOMT, the Herman and Wallace Institute, and Discover Physio. She is passionate about educating the community and other medical professionals on pelvic health and has developed several programs to further overall understanding and recognition of these issues. Ruth believes in individualized care with a focus on whole body health and wellness. She is married with 2 children and enjoys gardening, reading, hiking and yoga.
Camden Marcotte, PT, DPT
Cam graduated from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at MCPHS University in 2018. His past clinical experience has introduced him into a wide array of clinical conditions ranging from orthopedic, neurological, and vestibular disorders. Cam believes in an individualized and holistic treatment approach to assist with physical recovery. Cam seeks to constantly further his education and skill set with evidence based practice.
Sue McCarthy, PT, Director of Women's Health
Sue is a 1983 graduate of Simmons College where she earned a BS and certification in PT. Sue has many years of experience in a variety of settings including outpatient orthopedics, neurological rehab, outpatient women's health, aquatic therapy, home health care and skilled nursing facilities. Sue enjoys working with a variety of patients and utilizes a multifaceted skill set including manual therapy techniques, biofeedback, core strengthening, postural re-education and body mechanic training. In her free time, Sue enjoys skiing, hiking, long walks, gym work outs, a good book and most importantly spending time with family and friends.
Tammy received a Bachelor of Health Sciences from Quinnipiac University and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT), also from Quinnipiac. Tammy lives in her hometown of Weymouth where in her spare time she seizes every opportunity to travel continently, and hoping to expand further internationally. On weekends, she can be found surrounded by friends and family, cheering on Boston sports teams, enjoying the outdoors and exploring new restaurants and cuisines.
Brenda O'Connell, PT
Brenda graduated from Boston University in 1977 where she received a BS in physical therapy . She has spent the last 36 years working on the south shore. The last several years in management. She has 30 years experience in orthopedics with special training in manual therapies including myofascial release, joint mobilization, strain- counter strain and cranio-sacral therapy. Brenda has six years experience with treating chronic pain of head, neck, shoulder and TMJ disorders. While spending a year in the home care setting , Brenda received experience in treating vestibular disorders and fall prevention in the geriatric population. In her spare time Brenda enjoys spending time with her family especially her grandson, relaxing on the beach, or reading a good book.
Maria O’Laughlin, PT
Maria O’laughlin received her Bachelor of Science in physical therapy with a concentration in Business, from Boston University in 1989. She started her professional years at Braintree Rehabilitation hospital where she worked in orthopedic inpatient, outpatient and occupational health. Maria also worked in home health before moving to practice administration. Maria was Director of a group of large orthopedic outpatient clinics, continued to treat patients, and taught aquatic therapy for over 15 years. She has consulted extensively throughout her career in practice optimization, as well as for industrial and administrative clients in work injury prevention, ergonomics and back/neck education. She enjoys marketing for the practice, and has focused her clinical practice on a wide range of orthopedic diagnosis including back and neck pain, with both a manual and exercise based approach. Due to her love for the mature patient, she has a private pay homecare business called Doting Daughters that serves the south shore since 5 years. She enjoys the learning atmosphere and camaraderie of the other skilled clinicians in the Scituate clinic and is looking forward to contributing her skills to the patients in Peak Physical Therapy. Maria lives in Hingham with her husband, son and daughter who love to travel, boat and ski. Her family is actively involved in the adaptive ski program at Loon mountain.
Cheryl O'Malley, PTA
Cheryl received her Associate degree from Lasell College in has over 16 years experience as a PTA. She applies hands on techniques including Maitland, massage, joint mobilization, and stretching to help her patients recover quickly. She develops individualized therapeutic exercise programs for her patients to enable them to return to their daily and recreational activities. Cheryl also specializes in aquatic therapy which uses the properties of water to get patients moving and have successful functional gains. She enjoys running, biking, swimming, and kayaking.
Yi Ching Tan, PT, DPT
Ching received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Boston University College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College. Prior to her studies in the United States, Ching was a gym program and group fitness coordinator with The American Club in Singapore. Her clinical interests include various neurological and orthopedic disorders, with a focus on integrating evidence based practice in patient care. In her spare time, Ching enjoys weightlifting, reading, snowboarding and traveling.
Zachary Wagner, PT, DPT, CSCS
Zach received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from MGH Institute of Health Professions and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the NSCA. Zach has a passion for being active and helping others see the value, benefits and joys of physical activity and accomplishment. He has a background in treating all types of orthopedic diagnoses and loves working to bridge the gap between Physical Therapy and Strength and Conditioning. Specific areas of expertise include treating athletes of all ages, working with swimmers, throwers and other overhead athletes. Zach has also trained to treat vestibular disorders. Zach believes that educating his patients is one of the most important parts of the rehab process and believes that Physical Therapists are uniquely suited to provide comprehensive and excellent musculoskeletal care.
Matthew Haley, PT
Since graduating Physical Therapy school in 1996 from Northeastern University, Matt has spent his career using his knowledge base, sense of humor, and compassion to help thousands of patients reach their goals and return to their active lives after injury. He has combined his experiences from many different practice settings and continuing education courses to help patients learn about their injury and to get back to their previous activities. Matt uses an eclectic approach to patient care using treatments and philosophies from many different areas to treat each individual to their specific needs and to reach their goals. He does not believe all Physical Therapy is created equal or in a one size fits all approach and that is why he has partnered with Peak Therapy and their patient center approach to care. He utilizes a combination of caring, manual treatments and exercises to help each individual patient achieve their goals. Matt has also used his love of physical therapy and sports to help many athletes by volunteering at the Boston Marathon and half Marathon, the Pan-Mass Challenge, and the Bay State Games, among others over the years. Matt's spare time is spent with his very active twins, wife, and dog exploring the outdoors. He and his family spend as much time outside as possible, whether it be grilling or kayaking, or just exploring New England. He can even be found on the side lines of his son's soccer games or watching his daughter grow as a horseback rider. Matt's twins are 14 years olds and are now in High School and when not watching them grow with their activities he loves to walk his dog, take pictures, and cook with his wife.
Shawn Wells, PTA
Shawn graduated from Springfield Technical Community College as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2006, and has been practicing for the last decade in the South Shore area. He utlilizes his extensive knowledge of postural mechanics, balance, symmetry and musculoskeletal rehabilitation techniques to provide a wide range of patients with improved functional mobility and performance levels suited to their individual needs. Shawn has also taken on managing our pre-employment screening program providing work related screenings to assure safety at the work place. He’s committed to lifetime fitness and total body wellness, and enjoys skiing, golfing, obstacle races, road races, and has played various competitive and team sports for many years. He lives in Bridgewater, and enjoys having fun with his wife, daughter, son and dog.
Marie Hanlon, Patient Care Representative
Marie has been with Peak since 2013. She works as our liaison between our referral sources and Peak to assure that all patient care is delivered in the most efficient and effective manner. Marie lives in Hull with her husband and two children.
Shannon Delaney, Practice Manager Quincy/Hanover
Shannon received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2013, and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Healthcare Adminstration with Southern New Hampshire University. Shannon has been a member of Team Peak since 2013 and has taken on the role of Practice Manager for our Quincy and Hanover clinics. Shannon is a lifelong South Shore resident, and enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, boating in the summer, and running year-round.
Rachel Healy, Practice Manager Norwell/Scituate
Rachel has been a member of the Peak Physical Therapy team since 2013. She comes from a sales background, and started with Peak as an office manager for our Norwell location. In 2016, Rachel transitioned to Practice Manager for our Norwell and Scituate clinics. Rachel lives in Marshfield with her husband and two children. In her free time she enjoys reading, running, and boating with her family.
Jeanne D'Arcangelo, Assistant Billing Manager
Jeanne has been with Peak since it opened in June of 2008. Jeanne has extensive knowledge in navigating the always complex world of health insurance and billing. Jeanne enjoys traveling, knitting, sewing and spending time with her husband Frank and three children.
Ashley Joyce, Billing Manager
Ashley joined Peak Physical Therapy in May of 2017 as their Billing Manager. Ashley has been in the physical and occupational therapy field for 10 years and has been specializing in billing and coding for nine years. She received her certificate in medical billing and coding from Quincy College in May of 2009. Ashley has substantial knowledge of therapy billing guidelines, reimbursement and compliance. For the past four years she has also been focused in credentialing and contracting. She is currently working toward becoming a certified professional medical coder. Ashley has two rescue dogs from Georgia and they enjoy taking her for walks. In her spare time she loves to watch movies, read and listen to good music. In the summer, on the weekends, you can find her at the beach.
Erica Soller, Billing Assistant
Erica joined the Peak team in July 2018 with over three years experience in the medical billing field. She currently holds an associates degree in Business Administration and is working on getting her BBA with a concentration in accounting from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.
Jenna Laque, Office Manager Hanover, Director of Internal Marketing
Jenna joined Peak in October of 2016 as a receptionist/rehab aide in our Norwell office and was just recently promoted to Office Manager at our Hanover clinic. She is a college graduate of University of Phoenix with a bachelor’s degree in Humans Services Management. In her off time she enjoys working out, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
Julie Messinger, Office Manager Scituate
Julie received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology at the Westfield State University in 2011 and has worked as an exercise physiologist and then gymnastics coach since. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Occupational Therapy at Salem State University. In her spare time, Julie enjoys working out, enjoying nature, playing with her dogs, and spending time with friends and family.
Kim Shnider, Office Manager Quincy
Kim Joined Peak may of 2016 in our Quincy office. She is a recent college graduate of Keene State College with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, also holding an ACSM personal trainers’ certification. In her off time she enjoys working out, teaching fitness boot camp classes, cooking and spending time with her friends and family.

Leslie Cook, Medical Receptionist
Leslie joined Peak Physical Therapy in 2011 and is office manager of the Scituate clinic. Her previous employment has included working in a dental office. She grew up on the South Shore where she still resides today. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling and going to the beach in the summer.
Mary Donovan, Medical Receptionist/Rehab Aide
Mary began working at Peak in July, 2018. She graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is currently considering attending school to become a physical therapist. Mary spends the majority of her free time hanging out with her friends, working out, and going to the beach.
Devan O’Connell, Medical Receptionist
Devan joined Peak Physical Therapy in December 2016. Devan attended Lasell College in 2007 and is currently considering a certification for medical billing. She has worked at other physical therapy facilities in the past and joins us in our Norwell location. She enjoys spending her free time with her son and family.
Amanda Reilly, Medical Receptionist/Rehab Aide
Amanda began working at Peak in November, 2016. She graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Fairfield University. Amanda spends the majority of her free time hanging out with her family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, or cooking.
Michele Canestro, Rehab Aide
Michele began working at Peak in August 2018. She recently graduated in May 2018 from Lasell College with a Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training and a minor in Coaching. Michele is currently interested in going back to school to become a physical therapist. Outside of work Michele enjoys playing and coaching volleyball, working out, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family.
Emily Gray, MS, ATC
Emily received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Lyndon State College with a concentration in Pre-Professional Physical Therapy in 2015 and her Master's of Science degree in Athletic Training from Plymouth State University in 2018. She has experience working with a wide range of sports including soccer, ice hockey, track and field, basketball and football. In her free time she enjoys basketball, hiking and playing with her puppy.
Jenna Bellano, LAT, ATC
Jenna received her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Keene State College. She is the Certified Athletic Trainer at North Quincy High School. She splits her time covering high school sporting events and assisting physical therapists as a therapy aide. Her responsibilities include preventing, treating, and rehabilitating sports injuries in high school athletes. Before joining Peak she worked as the Athletic Trainer at Camp Greylock. In her free time she enjoys playing lacrosse and going to the beach.
