Performing Arts Therapy

Many individuals that participate in the performing arts, such as dancers, musicians, figure skaters, and gymnasts, are at risk for developing a musculoskeletal injury because of the repetitive nature of their skills. Our physical therapists at Peak Physical Therapy and Wellness understand these stresses of training, practicing, and performing and look forward to helping these performers continue to participate at their highest level.

We will closely examine body mechanics and posture of the body related to the injury and work to identify any impairments, structural asymmetries, or technical issues that may lead to further injury. Our physical therapists focus on injury management, prevention, and long-term wellness.

Individualized treatment plans may include: cold laser therapy, electrical stimulation, soft tissue massage, joint mobilization, postural re-training, ergonomic assessments, or muscle energy techniques. Individuals will be given a stretching and strengthening program geared towards their specific injury.
