Pediatric PT

Our pediatric physical therapy program is designed to help evaluate and treat growing children from newborns to young adults with developmental diseases, congenital conditions, sports injuries, and pain. We use skilled and individualized rehabilitation services to improve range of motion, strength, coordination, gross motor skills, and balance to promote symmetrical and age appropriate participation. Our goal is to maximize your child’s potential at home, in school, in sports and in everyday activities. We strive to maximize their confidence and independence to improve their participation in their chosen activities while making physical therapy fun!

At Peak Physical Therapy and Sports Performance, we can address:

We evaluate your child’s pain levels, strength, range of motion, balance, motor skills and coordination to develop an individualized program to help your child move safely and to ensure optimum results. We work closely with the child’s primary doctor and other health care team members, such as occupational therapists and speech language pathologists, to help the child reach their goals and maximize their independence.

What to expect:

Your therapist will complete a comprehensive and individualized evaluation using a series of assessment and age appropriate standardized tests and measures. Your therapist will work on an individualized basis with your family to establish goals for treatment, determine frequency of follow up, and make recommendations for prognosis. We will work with your family to provide education for home exercise programs and management/progression of program at home to maximize independence. We want to empower families to participate in their child’s rehabilitation program to maximize potential gains to be made in PT. We use recent evidence based practice to ensure the most up to date and effective treatment programs.

NEW:

We are now offering FREE 15 minute gross motor assessments for ages 0-2. We will use a standardized assessment to determine if they are on track to meet their gross motor milestones. We will also measure skull shape to ensure that they are not at risk to develop plagiocephaly. These assessments can be done virtually via telehealth or in the clinic. Once we complete testing, we will determine if PT services are recommended.
