Post-Surgical Therapy

One in three Americans suffer from degenerative joint disease and arthritis, resulting in more than one million joint replacements each year in the United States. Additionally, many other individuals undergo surgical intervention as a result from overuse injuries, trauma or persistent pain that interferes with their daily lives.

After surgery, physical therapy can help normalize how you walk, climb stairs, get dressed, and complete everyday activities with less pain and with proper form. Our main goal at Peak Physical Therapy and Wellness is to provide a comprehensive hands-on approach that will safely return the individual to their prior level of function while protecting the integrity of the surgical repair and preventing future injuries. We use evidence-base protocols and surgeon recommendations to facilitate the recovery process.

Some of the postsurgical challenges we treat include:
  • Total hip replacements
  • Total knee replacements
  • Total shoulder replacements
  • Quadriceps/patellar tendon repairs
  • Arthroscopic surgeries – hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow, including ACL repairs and meniscectomy
  • Surgical repair after ankle fracture
  • Rotator Cuff Repairs
  • Carpal Tunnel Releases

At Peak Physical Therapy and Wellness, we strive to restore full mobility to the affected area, increase general strength and functional mobility. We also work to improve balance, proprioception, and endurance to prepare the joints and muscles to return to your normal daily activities and job requirements in a safe and effective manner.
